Pirinoa cottage, Wairarapa. (Commissioned work)
This cottage is situated in south Wairarapa. I stayed in the cottage to complete a series of drawings for the work. It is a cute cosy cottage and refurbished to its original design, situated on a working farm. In the painting I have focused on the way the verandah caught the morning sun leading into the most homely and comfortable cottage ever. Great memories have been made in historic home.
Pirinoa Cottage is a commissioned piece and not for sale. The general cost of a commissioned work is $2,500.00.

My original work begins from a live sketch and is then transfered on to a piece of Saunders Waterford cold pressed 100% cotton paper 640gsm/300lb. Which is a very heavy grade of top quality paper that really lasts and looks beautiful under the layer of gouache paint. I love paper and pay alot of attention to this component of my work.
The paint is Windsor & Newton quality gouache, an opaque version of watercolour paint that creates soft yet vivid tones. The paper size is 76cm x 56cm.
