Lake.
Derived from drawings about the epic landforms that create the Lakes and Mountains in New Zealand . This composition is based on Arthur's Pass , a road that connects Canterbury to the West coast of Aotearoa. It is full of incredible scenery and deep colours that I love to draw.

My original work begins from a live sketch and is then transfered on to a piece of Saunders Waterford cold pressed 100% cotton paper 640gsm/300lb. Which is a very heavy grade of top quality paper that really lasts and looks beautiful under the layer of gouache paint. I love paper and pay alot of attention to this component of my work.
The paint is Windsor & Newton quality gouache, an opaque version of watercolour paint that creates soft yet vivid tones. The paper size is 76cm x 56cm.
