Into the light. inspired from drawings of Wellington in the late afternoon sun. Featuring the memorable Saint Gerards church and monestery above Oriental Bay and the steepness of Hawker st winding its way to the top of the hill, catching a commanding view of Wellington at it's best.

My original work begins from a live sketch and is then transfered on to a piece of Saunders Waterford cold pressed 100% cotton paper 640gsm/300lb. Which is a very heavy grade of top quality paper that really lasts and looks beautiful under the layer of gouache paint. I love paper and pay alot of attention to this component of my work.
The paint is Windsor & Newton quality gouache, an opaque version of watercolour paint that creates soft yet vivid tones. The paper size is 76cm x 56cm.
