The Commissioning Process - from Client Request to Drawing and Painting

I love working closely with my clients and capturing, in paint,  the essence of the people and places they love.

Here's my process:

• I always work from "life" rather than photographs.
  
• First, I do a number of pencil drawings - on site if it's a landscape, or during a sitting if it's a portrait.
  
• I share these drawings with  my clients and we discuss them. 
  
• Depending on client responses and feedback I modify and elaborate the drawings until the client is happy.
  
• Then I begin the actual painting.
